Glass Tile Backsplashes, So Many Choices!

Where to begin? There are so many choices today of glass tile for your backsplash, where do you even begin? Let’s start with the breakdown of types of glass tile available.

Clear Glass Mosaics - This was probably the first and most common glass tile for backsplashes. It is a simple 1″ x 1″ or 1″ x 2″ clear glass with the actual color paper adhered to the back of the tile to give it the vibrant color. This comes in both a 4mm and an 8mm thickness.

Recycled Glass - Eye-catching colors, rustic elegance and environmentally friendly recycled glass make recycled glass an exceptional choice! Due to the handmade character of this tile series, variations in shade, color and size within each sheet should be expected. Most recycled glass is comprised of between 30 and 70 percent glass from bottles and/or other waste glass that would otherwise have entered the solid waste stream. The most popular sizes are 1″ x 1″ and 1″ x 2″ brick.

Gem Stone Glass - Unique and exceptionally elegant, the color of gemstone glass mosaics are blended in while the glass is still in the molten state, so the colors will never fade away. Variations in color, swirl and shade are the characteristics of all gem stone glass mosaics. This series will come in an array of sizes from 5/8″ x 5/8″, 1″ x 1″ and even some 1″ x 2″ sizes.

Stained glass - There are 2 different types of stained glass to consider. First, there is the stained glass that is actualy made into sheet goods then cut to the different mosaic sizes which range from a 5/8″ x 5/8″ to a 2″ x 2″ and also available in small brick patterns that are normally 1/4″ x 2″ and the multi brick size that has 4- 6 different sizes on one sheet of mosaic. This type is normally recitified or more of a square, clean cut mosaic.Second, is the type that is poured into a mold and then popped out for a tile. This type usually has more of an uneven texture which will give it its brilliance of color and variations of texture. This style normally comes in a 2″ x 2″ or 4″ x 4″ size. This style is normally NOT mesh mounted and there is more worked involved in the installation process.

Don’t get me wrong there is a lot more glass options available then what I described. In today’s emerging market the ideas and products are limitless. These are just a few of the more popular glass ideas that are seen and used on a day to day basis in most kitchen backsplashes across the United States. The thing to do is to go into your project with an open mind and don’t get overwhelmed with the choices. Take your time, and enjoy the possibilities because no matter what glass you choose your backsplash will be stunning!

What is Identity Theft?

Identity theft is an ever present issue in modern Britain. Every year, there are countless reports on ID theft in papers, on television, and all over the internet - it’s hard not to be aware of the issue at hand. So why do so many of us still fall victim to identity theft?

The answer is usually quite straightforward: People simply aren’t taking the necessary amount of care with their personal details. Despite endless warnings about identity theft, people maintain the mindset that it just won’t happen to them, provided they don’t do anything extreme, such as posting their credit card details all over the internet. The unfortunate truth is that identity thieves need far less information than you would think to open a bank account or complete a transaction, for example.

Thieves can also find the information they want in unlikely places - social networking sites such as facebook were recently highlighted as being a possible security risk when ID fraud is concerned, with many people of all ages sharing details such as full names and addresses without any apparent concern.

Even more alarming is the fact that there has been little change in the sort of confidential data families are divulging to potential thieves simply by being careless with what they throw away. Names, addresses, even entire bank statements have been found in typical family bins throughout the country , almost as many as the last time the government decided to try investigate and find out why ID fraudsters were becoming, it seemed, increasingly successful in their efforts to use others’ identities for their own devices.

A big part of the issue is simply having the common sense to properly dispose of and remove waste - bin raiders have no qualms about digging through bags upon bags of rubbish if it gets them a credit card number or two - not only can they be used as they wish, they can also make money selling the details of the card on to others. The documents should be disposed of properly, there are many confidential shredding services available.

The public must be made more aware that ID theft problem has a constant presence, and that they always need to be on their guard as much as possible or risk losing time, money and dignity. In the most extreme cases some of those who fall victim to ID theft have been falsely accused of heinous crimes and making transactions they had no involvement in at all, usually not even being present in the location where the fraudulent transaction took place. While most of these cases can be resolved in the end, it is a lengthy process and the victim’s reputation among the community can be permanently tarnished by this point. While this is only the worst case scenario, the list of problems one can face when their details get into the wrong hands and find themselves a victim of identity fraud is seemingly endless.

Identity theft can do far more than just cause a slight delay and inconvenience. Jobs can be lost, reputations tarnished…all because someone (not necessarily the victim themselves; sometimes a company such as a bank or building society) wasn’t careful enough and an ID thief helped themselves to their records.

Start Learning Day Trading

Because investing in penny stocks was at one time a job of only the well-connected and the professional business world, it is understandable for an individual to feel overwhelmed with the possibilities of actually stock trading — with real-world currency — of any kind of stock while working at your house at your personal PC.

Penny stocks specifically can be risky, and while there is a huge potential in day trading with penny stocks, you must also take great care in managing and studying your penny stock portfolio. You must tolerate and survive risks as you continue forward with your learning.

While I am still amazed that changes in laws and advancements in technology now enable individuals to work for ourselves in this manner, individuals need to appreciate that this isn’t a computer game and that individuals are working with real currency and the potential for true losses.

To help individuals along your way, I began a brand new website specialized in helping less-than-experienced day traders find their way in the perilous yet rewarding practice of penny stocks: Day Trading Penny Stocks.

With this internet site I will try to provide some of the great times and bad times I persevered while working for my success with penny stocks. I hope people will learn from my mistakes and, possibly, even find themselves inspired by my successes. Individuals may follow the development of the site as well as my current experiments on a Day Trading Penny Stocks Blog.

People have to also understand how winning penny stock lists will not be found published for free on the World Wide Web. I believe people look for this sort of thing all the time using Yahoo and the like, but I am telling you, you are wasting your efforts. True successful stock trades are serious money and hence a serious issue.

So you must expect to do your own research and I strongly suggest you consider investing in a professional penny stock newsletter. I have an experienced friend who wrote a well-written, detailed review of a well-known, long-running newsletter for my site. Study her thorough analysis here: Day Trading Penny Stocks Newsletter

So steel your nerves, start studying and I offer you the best of good fortune for your penny stock investing efforts!

Is There Something Hiding in Your Diet Food?

Many people are aware of the fact that it is healthy to stay trim.  Unfortunately, if you are obese you are not only hurting yourself as a result of the extra weight, your body is not able to absorb much that is healthy from the foods that you eat.  In fact, the heavier that you are, the unhealthier you are as a result of your body not working properly.  That is why many individuals are looking for a way to lose weight and most of them are doing so through diet food, sugar free sodas and diet plans which provide your meals for you.  Although it may be healthy for you to lose weight, is there something hiding in your diet food that is unhealthy?

Unfortunately, most of the food that we eat today is full of things that are not good for us.  Much of the food is processed and, as a result, many of the good nutrients are taken out of it.  We bring this food home and we microwave at or cook it until it is hot.  In doing so, we are killing any of the enzymes which may be left over in the food after it’s assault at the processing factory.  This doesn’t spell good news for the diet food industry as far as health is concerned.  Add to that the fact that many of us are drinking diet sodas which contain products that kill us, such as aspartame and our health is really suffering as a result.

It’s one thing to lose weight but it’s another to compromise your health as a result.  It’s still possible, however, for you to lose your weight and to maintain and regain your health as a result.  The way that you do so is by eating plenty of organic raw fruits and vegetables throughout the day.  As a matter of fact, the more of these things that you can eat on a daily basis, the better.  If you absolutely cannot eat raw vegetables, lightly steam them but be sure not to overcook them.

The life that we have comes from the food that we eat.  If we feed our bodies the proper things and make sure that we are getting a balanced diet, we will not only lose weight but we will be healthier and happier as a result.

The fatloss4idiots diet plan is a new method based on your metabolism, without changing your lifestyle at all you can lose weight, the fatloss4idiots diet plan can actually help you lose 9 lbs in 11 days and still eat anything you like. Read the full review and find out how.

Alzheimer’s Prevention, Alzheimers Treatment and Alzheimers Disease Research

Alzheimers Disease (AD) is a devastating mind-robbing affliction that is now the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. and the fifth leading cause of death for those over age 65. It will almost certainly kill all of the over 5 million existing AD sufferers within the next 8-10 years.

Alzheimers disease research has gone into high gear with hundreds of millions of dollars of budget for Alzheimers treatment and Alzheimers prevention.

As the way the disease develops and progresses is better understood, the research emphasis appears to be shifting to Alzheimers Prevention. The hallmark indicator of AD is the development of beta-amyloid plaques and tau protein tangles in the brain. As these develop, brain cells die. When enough of them die, symptoms begin to appear.

AD appears to be a problem not unlike Infantile Paralysis (Polio) or Hydrophobia (Rabies) in that once the disease can be diagnosed from its symptoms, the damage has already been done. That damage to the victim’s neurological system is irreparable. We cannot restore lost brain cells, and even if we could, we could not replace the information and memories that the lost cells had contained…

For this reason, although there are some types of Alzheimers treatment under development that show promise, the emphasis has shifted to prevention as the way to go.

While pharmaceutical companies and the rest of the ethical drug industry are certainly deeply involved in Alzheimers disease research, others are involved too. Researchers looking at why some people get AD and others don’t are coming up with interesting findings that apply to prevention.

Researchers are finding that heredity plays a part, but the genetic link is a predisposition, not an absolute. Environmental factors apparently play a larger role. In studies of identical twins researchers found that one twin might get AD while the other did not. Outside factors appeared to be determining in which twin the genetic predisposition was being triggered and which not.

People with heart and circulation problems or with type 2 diabetes (usually brought on by being overweight), or who have lower levels of physical and mental activity are more likely to get AD. While heart-healthy, normal weight people who stay mentally and physically active are more likely to avoid AD altogether. Maintaining proper levels of certain B-vitamins in one’s bloodstream and many other factors seem to work to avoid AD.

Where do we stand right now, as the clock ticks while we wait for AD research results? Well, sadly the medical profession can do little more than make AD victims as comfortable as possible while they are dying. The only effective prevention available is for each of us to take personal action.

The best bet for Alzheimers prevention is to use wise lifestyle and nutritional choices to put yourself firmly in the “less likely to contract AD” groups. Fortunately this is relatively easy to do. All you need to do is to inform yourself and get started!
