With a bedroom, subtle lighting is preferable to a single harsh light because it doesn’t enhance the feel of the room at all whereas many soft lights are more inviting and relaxing. The colors used when you create this type of bedroom are paramount for it to work well, so use shades of antique amber or slate blue for example. For people remodeling the master bedroom into a type of retreat then the addition of large pillows, cushions and colorful throws can help create this effect plus the odd mirror and perhaps a picture or two, preferably a landscape.
Generally a relaxing lounge chair with a floor lamp and table will also work well if you want to use it as a reading room as well. In a room like this colors that create the best effect are the darker blues, darker browns and the type of green that you see naturally in woodland as these colors produce a warm womb like feeling that is also good for a restful nights sleep. Some good places to try for your furniture are large stores such as Debenhams Bedroom Furniture and Homebase Bedroom Furniture. These large stores often have sales offering upwards of 15% off.
If you are determined to create a space that is purely self indulgent, then why not add a radio/cd system, television and traditional writing desk where you will be able to enjoy your own private little world, but this is obviously something that is dependant on available space. You can even add a refrigerator providing you can find a suitable cabinet to conceal it and often a small tea or coffee service will complete the effect. This could be a challenge as once this type of master bedroom remodeling project is complete; you may not want to leave it.

Q: Should I hire a lawyer to review my physician employment contract?
A: In general, yes. We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. We have reviewed many contracts and can provide you with feedback as to what we have seen as standard. The choice of a lawyer is critical. Find someone well versed in medical contract law, as well as the state’s laws in which you will practice. Try to find an attorney recommended by someone else. Also, make sure the attorney has enough time to review the contract in a timely manner. Negotiations could be hampered by a slowed response time.
Q: If I am a resident, when should I decide upon accepting a position?
A: As a general rule, the earlier the better. The more time you have to work on license applications, hospital privileges, finding a new home and moving arrangements, the less stress you’ll encounter. Many hospitals recruit for summer positions in the fall and early winter. Don’t think all of the “good” physician jobs are taken by the end of winter.
