Is Affiliate Marketing Getting Too Hard?

Whether you’ve just started poking around with making money online as an affiliate or you’ve been slogging away at it for years, there’s one thing that you’ll agree on…

…it’s getting tougher to make a living as an affiliate.

Although some people resort to less crowded and less competitive markets to make money, the problem is there is less people to sell to, so it’s catch 22 for MOST affiliates.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Not at all.

Sure, it’s not as easy to make money online as it was 5 years ago but hey, that’s life. Everything changes and there will always be a way to win the race.

They key to winning the race however, is to play smart, NOT hard.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Competition - gotta love it

First of all, find a niche where there a healthy number of affiliates promoting products. Don’t be obscure and try to be clever on this one, because it’s far easier to find a market where people are already proven to be spending lots of money.  Just join the affiliates and take your share, because one more affiliate in the crowd will not make a difference, so it might as well be YOU.

2. Time - save some

Sure, we’d all like to have more time. But you need to save as much of it as possible so that you can save yourself from a stress induced illness or a breakdown of your life in general.

You also need time to breathe, to relax and assess where you’re going with your business online, and to be able to assess your progress. This is so important, for your sanity, let alone your family’s.

3. Money doesn’t grow on YOUR trees.

Yes, money grows on trees, sort of…but not the ones in YOUR back garden. So why spend it like it does? Be sensible with your budget when it comes to advertising or you’ll end up in serious poop.

And when I say sensible, I don’t mean hiding it all under a pillow or saving it for some useless retirement fund that the government likes to tax, I mean investing it wisely into your business, being smart with your advertising budget and making each dollar/pound truly count. 3. Avoid Confusion

There are a million and one books on internet marketing, and one hundred times that on successful sales.

You need one system to make all the money in the world that you will ever be able to spend. One system that contains the principles from A-Z along with the actual proven steps you need to take to turn these principles into money.

The battle to beat my dad on the chess board

My father was always buying inexpensive chess sets for us to play with at parks. We always used inexpensive ones because we were worried we’d lose pieces from a nicer chess set. We have been playing chess since we were old enough to sit up without chewing on the pieces. It was a major goal throughout my childhood to beat my father at chess — I came close a few times, but never actually decisively beat him. We played recently and I did win — but I suspect it was primarily because my son was hanging over his shoulder, wanting to play with the horses. Hardly a “decisive” win in my book - but I’ll take it!

While playing chess is fun by itself, you can also derive a lot of enjoyment by becoming a collector of novelty chess sets and pieces. Instead of just the regular black and white shapes, why not consider Civil War figures, Star Wars figures, or even Bible figures? You can find chess sets for almost every historical or fictional series, from World War II to Harry Potter, wherever there’s a story with two clear or natural “us versus them” sides.

I am a collector of chess sets. I recently purchase a miniature set made of genuine oak wood. The best chess set that I have in my collection is made of glass. The glass chess pieces are clear and frosted alternatively for the player to distinguish between white and black squares seen on a normal chess board. I have ten chess sets in my collection till date. I am looking to indulge in my hobby the next time I travel abroad.
