How to consolidate credit card debt

You see the commercials offering to help you reduce your credit card payments, lower your interest rate and waive late fees. They promise to help you get your freedom back. Who wouldn’t want to be debt free? Especially when the debt consolidation companies can make it sound so easy. But it is not so easy, especially when you do not own a home or have bad credit.

How to consolidate credit card debt when you do not own a home? You will need to get a different loan such as a personal loan or signature loan and use that to consolidate all your credit cards into that one loan and begin to make massive payments on that new loan to get out of debt fast.

The thing with debt consolidation is that the companies can lower your interest payments because they can extend the length of your loan. So that’s easy to make it appear that your monthly payment is going down.

Are there other ways to consolidate credit card debt? Yes, you can apply for a new credit card with a low interest rate and transfer all your balances to that new card and once again make massive payments on that new card to pay off your balances fast.

To increase how much you can pay to your credit card balances, try and get a second job, reduce your spending, sell some unused stuff on eBay, or do some freelance work. There are tons of ways to increase your income to use for debt repayment.

Before you consolidate your credit card debt, do your research. Learn what others have done to pay off their bills. Talk to friends and family and get referrals to reputable debt consolidation companies. Get more tips at how to consolidate credit card debt
