Easy Sensible Weight Loss

Weight loss
is not an easy thing to accomplish but can be done. Since my daughter was born fifteen months ago, I have lost a little over sixty pounds. The two most important factors in weight loss are eating less and moving more. The main thing to keep in mind while working toward losing weight is to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to try not to lose weight drastically. If you stick with your new eating and exercise habits then your weight
loss goals should be happily met.

The first thing to think about when working toward losing weight is to eat less. The average diet consists of about two thousand calories per day. While trying to lose weight, you can go as low as one thousand two hundred calories per day and still maintain a healthy lifestyle. Also, you have to remember to eat the right kinds of foods. Chow down on the fresh fruits and vegetables. Try to stay away from anything with sugar, and anything that is fried. When cooking, use the no-calorie spray butter instead of the real thing.

Switch to skim milk instead of whole milk. Also, at the beginning of the week, make out a healthy menu for the week and go by the menu when making your grocery list; this way, you will not buy things you will not need to be eating, plus it saves you money. Stick with the portion sizes listed on the food packages as well. When first starting to eat the right size portions, it may not seem like much food, but it is plenty to keep your body satisfied and healthy.

The second half to weight loss is to start moving more. It is recommended to at least walk briskly for about thirty minutes each day. If you have kids, you know this is not a problem. Take the dog for a walk a couple times a day; if not for yourself, for the dog because they need exercise too. Get together with a few friends from the neighborhood
and share the local gossip as you take a walk around the block a few times. Take a few laps around the backyard. Going shopping counts too! Pushing a fully-loaded cart around inside the grocery store is crazy good exercise. You not only get lots of walking time in, you give your arms a workout too by
pushing and turning that heavy grocery cart.

Another thing to remember where weight loss is concerned is to lose weight in a healthy way. The most healthy weight loss occurs when only two to three pounds are lost each week. This may not seem like much but it is important to keep your body healthy and not traumatize it by losing fifty pounds overnight. You may lose up to five pounds the first week or two and that is alright because you have made drastic changes to your diet and exercise habits; but after the first two weeks try to stick with two to three pounds per week.

Another option you may want to consider is a good weight loss pill. If you go this route, just remember that there is no such thing as a miracle pill. You will have to watch your diet as well. But weight loss pills can help.

Always consult a physician before taking any supplement or starting a new diet and exercise program.

Stock Broker Comparison - Comparing the Best Stock Brokers

Comparisons between stock brokers can be completed by planning out the requirements of your trading style. If you are looking to trade frequently and use an online stock broker you can list your requirements in a spreadsheet and methodically check each requirement.

Comparisons in fees can be made on a basis of per trade or account trading frequency. These comparisons may differ based on the unit of comparison. If you trade 200 times per month then your fees may be lower than if you trade and fees are charged on a percentage of each trade.

Another comparison that can be made is the speed to market. Some online stock brokers are slower to get trades finalised and settled. This is partly due to their platform and whether they are using third party dealers to settle trades. Comparisons are hard to make, but usually those brokers that deal directly as dealers are faster to market than those that don’t.

You can compare the customer service response times by ringing the service desk. If you do this several times during a normal trading week, you can get a good idea of which service desk respond the quickest.

One method of checking the viability and trading expertise of your online broker is to talk to them about your options when trades are disputed because of failure within there platforms. What this does is allow you to know your options and the likely response of your broker before the event happens. Most online stock brokers will compromise or refund trade costs when thing go wrong. Some will only refund or reverse trades to their loss when you prove it was their platform that failed. It may seem like a small issue, but it can indicate their willingness to comprise in a fair and professional manner.

The last of the comparisons you can make is by researching the companies offering the online brokerage. Information is available through various sites on the internet. Comparisons between asset valuations, employee size and financial results for the year can indicate which brokers are performing well and which may have problems in the future.

It can be quite frustrating when your broker is bought out by another and you end up having to setup new account numbers, new cash accounts and new trading platforms. So compare your brokers and spend time researching each.

Moleskine Notebooks From Avalon.PH

I’ve often wondered what it would be like to own a Moleskine notebook. You see, Moleskines are rather expensive, hardbound notebooks. That’s why it’s wonderful that Avalon.PH is organizing several Moleskine notebook giveaway contests, where we will be treated to a series of week-long contests.

Such a wonderful idea, don’t you think? Imagine, you get to hop from blog to blog, and thus increase your chances of winning your very own Moleskine. It’s a dream come true, plus you don’t have to rack your brains too much. From the looks of things, the different contest requirements are rather easy.

I’m glad Jasper Ong generously shares and helps spread love for the almost forgotten art of writing. Afterall, since we’re talking about smooth paper (plus the fact that it is quite a pricey notebook, we will at the very least strive to write nicely. In today’s keyboard thumping blog generation, we often find our penmanship deteriorating.

What exactly can we write in a Moleskine? I mean, a lot of us might feel that we are not artists, nor great writers such as Hemingway. This sometimes makes us feel insecure and afraid to scrawl what we consider shallow thoughts onto these rather expensive sheets of bound paper. Doesn’t something this valuable deserve more noble thoughts?

Nonsense. I’ve seen people use Moleskines for their hastily scribbled grocery lists. There’s nothing wrong with that. It simply means we are free to write as we please. And if we feel a pang of guilt when we remember how much a Moleskine costs, let us remember that we can win one… for free.

Can’t think of what to write in your Moleskine? Use it as some kind of blog writing planner. You can quickly jot down ideas which you can later flesh out into full-blown blog posts.

You can also use the notebook to remember what site you were supposed to visit. Once we start surfing online, it’s easy to forget a thought that suddenly appeared in our minds a few seconds ago. That is precisely why we need to have some pen and paper nearby, to help retain what easily gets removed from our memories by the ever-distracting nature of the web.

I can’t wait to get hold of a Moleskine and experience firsthand the magical wonder of writing on crisp sheets of paper adorned with light streaks of gray lines. That’s why I’ll participate in the various Avalon.PH Moleskine notebook giveaways spearheaded by Jasper Ong today. In the meantime, happy blogging and writing!
