titleThe Evolution of HDMI Cable/titlecategory1/categoryWith the introduction of high definition TV, all the new TV’s and electronics will have to comply with HD requirements. In plain english, that means that if you want to comply with HD video, you would have to upgrade a lot of the old TV, including the analog TV, PC, and cables.

And now it’s no longer a trivial matter of having any ordinary connector, but the a href=http://www.hdmi-cable.org/HDMI cable connector/a has to adhere to standards. For example, not all a href=http://www.hdmi-cable.org/monster/Monster HDMI/a can handle 1080p video. Though 720p is the minimum high-definition video, a lot of the new devices are capable of higher resolutions, like 1080p and up to 2560×1600 pixels in size. Although the requirements are more advanced, and more technical, there is an impetus to simplify the HDMI requirements so that the ordinary user would not be lost in the terminology.

As high-definition video evolves, HDMI also evolves with it. HDMI is a huge part of the system. The HDMI cable has to follow the requirements to allow the new features of the HD devices. Although there are features of HDMI which have remained the same since 2002, it is expected that sooner or later, even these would show some improvements. Audio, for instance uses at 8 channel support. But since this is still the current state of technology, it is not projected to improve much in the foreseeable future, or until development of 16 channels.
